Advanced In-The-Wild Malware Test
The Advanced In-the-Wild Malware Test evaluates the effectiveness of security products against real-world threats throughout the year. Based on results achieved in individual test editions and across the full annual testing cycle, we award certifications recognising protection effectiveness, consistency and remediation performance.
The Excellent certification is awarded for outstanding protection results achieved in an individual test edition.
Product of the Year is awarded for consistently outstanding protection demonstrated across the annual testing cycle.
The TOP Remediation Time award recognises exceptional remediation performance and rapid endpoint recovery from active threats throughout the year.
Excellent
The Excellent certificate is awarded after each edition of the Advanced In-The-Wild Malware Test to products that block at least 99.6% of in-the-wild threats and meet the required certification criteria.
Product of the Year 2026
Once all editions of the Advanced In-The-Wild Malware Test have been completed in a calendar year, we award the special Product of the Year certificate to products that have participated in at least three editions and blocked at least 99.6% of in-the-wild threats.
TOP Remediation Time 2026
At the end of the annual testing cycle, the TOP Remediation Time certificate is awarded to products that demonstrate outstanding remediation performance, based on the measured time required to detect, contain, and remediate active threats.
