Anti-phishing antivirus test for home users

AV-C has tested 10 security products for home computers and micro-enterprises for the detection of phishing sites. The test was carried out on Windows 7 Professional x64 computers with Internet Explorer 11. The test lasted from July 29 to August 3, 2015.

The test involved 245 URLs that contained phishing sites, for example, credentials for payment systems (PayPal), data for electronic banking and debit cards, e-mail accounts, social networks, online games and other internet services.

The study also considered the vulnerability of protection against false alarms. On 500 pages secured with SSL certificates, only F-Secure passed one setback by counting a trusted and secure site as harmful.

The following map, on the other hand, reflects 245 pages with phishing content. The test used 5 phishing sites hosted on servers with IP addresses assigned to Poland.
