Bank Pekao SA finally moves to TLS 1.2

Bank Pekao SA in the communication issued from the security category informs that from 16 May 2017 will introduce the latest TLS 1.2 encrypted connection protocol, which secures the connection with online banking.

For users, this means that logging in to the electronic account will take place via the TLS 1.2 communication protocol, which is resistant to known vulnerabilities existing in earlier versions of this protocol, but on the condition that the session will be established with the bank's website via a browser that supports the TLS 1.2 protocol. And so:

  • Internet Explorer from version 9
  • Edge
  • Chrome since version 41
  • Firefox from version 36
  • Opera from version 27
  • Safari from version 7

Older browsers, mainly Internet Explorer, which is still available in Windows XP and Windows Vista, is available in a version of the "eighth" maximum, which does not support TLS 1.2.

Check if your Internet Explorer supports TLS 1.2. The screen shows IE 11 in Windows 10.

If, for safety reasons, it is worth considering alternative programs of this type.
