Note, on May 31 Avast will end support for old versions of programs

Exactly that day, Avast will definitively end support for Avast Free Antivirus, Avast Pro Antivirus, Avast Internet Security and Avast Premier versions 8.0.1497 and earlier. There will also be no updates of security components and the antivirus engine itself, as well as technical support will not be provided from that day.

For the ordinary consumer, it means only that he will have to go through - from somewhere else - a very easy process of updating the program to a newer version: Avast Free Antivirus 2015, Avast Pro Antivirus 2015, Avast Internet Security 2015 or Avast Premier Antivirus 2015.

How do I update Avast programs?

Nothing simpler. Just one click: (from the left: Avast version 7, Avast 8, Avast 2014).

By updating programs to version 2015, you gain:

  • Better threat detection - 2015 version includes improved protection against 0-day malware and potentially unwanted software.
  • Better protection of the local network - Home Network Security module, which detects irregularities in the router's settings.
  • Better technical support.
  • Update of errors in the operation of the program.
