Project Copernicus - a new version of Sophos Firewall OS

The British manufacturer and provider of UTM devices has announced that it provides a beta version of the new software (Sophos Firewall OS) under the code name Project Copernicus, which will combine the hardware and software capabilities of award-winning SG devices with technologies developed by Cyberoam.

The manufacturer invites all interested parties to test the new version of the firmware that can be installed on the SG series devices, at the same time indicating that it does not recommend installing it in production environments.

The new OS has been redesigned to a larger extent, the solution has been supplemented with the new Security Heartbeat technology, and the policy making model has been rebuilt, which makes the protection of users and applications more friendly, efficient and easier to implement.

More information about the Copernicus project can be found on the producer's website , where links to download the firmware for current SG devices as well as OS in the version for VMware, Citrix, Microsoft Hyper-V and KVM and OS in the version intended for Intel servers have been made available.
